Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a wide range of litigation and legal matters. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, handling complex litigation cases and providing high-quality legal services to our clients. This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about the law, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a proven track record in litigation, legal writing, and legal research.
Responsibilities
1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute lawsuits.
2. Prepare and draft various legal documents such as appeals, briefs, motions, and other pleadings.
3. Conduct legal research and analysis to guide case strategy.
4. Negotiate settlements in civil litigation cases involving personal injury, insurance, business law, probate estate, and trusts.
5. Advocate for clients during trials, presenting evidence and arguments in a compelling and persuasive manner.
6. Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations, helping them navigate complex legal situations.
7. Develop relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives to provide effective legal advice and representation.
8. Collaborate with legal team members to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to litigation and client service.
Qualifications
1. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar of NY and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on litigation.
4. Proven experience in legal writing and research.
5. Familiarity with various areas of law, including personal injury, insurance, business law litigation, probate estate litigation, and Estate & Trusts.
6. Experience in appellate briefing and trial proceedings.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal judgments.
8. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively represent clients and articulate legal strategies and complex legal concepts.
9. A commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical standards.
10. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
