Carpenter - Locksmith

Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs alterations, modification and construction of items a structure such as framework, staircases, doors/windows, concrete form etc.; Installs metal studded partitions, metal/wood doors, locksets and related hardware; Installs various flooring such as vinyl tile, carpet tile, sheet material etc.; Performs locksmith duties to include installing, maintaining, repairing/replacing, and modifying a range of internal and external locking devices; Modifies and reworks locking devices to improve or provide new structural capabilities to accomplish security objectives; Combines lock cylinders and cuts keys by code; Opens lock cylinders by both impression and pick methods; Performs fine surfacing such as laminating veneers and plastics; Determines type and kind of materials needed to complete work assignments; Utilizes applicable state and/or federal codes pertaining to both carpentry and locksmith trades; Performs other duties assigned as it relates to the position. Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8am until 4:

Work requires considerable standing, stooping and bending, working on ladders, platforms and scaffolds which may require the employee to work in cramped or awkward positions. Occasionally may be required to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds. Employee works in all areas throughout the Medical Center. The employee works outside in all kinds of weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, and splinters from hand or powered tools while performing work. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
