Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Repair utility systems, supply and disposal systems, including equipment such as water closets, tubs, showers, fire sprinkler system and any other equipment involved in sewage, water, oil, gas distribution systems and medical gas systems, as well as backflow prevention systems. Perform preventive maintenance work as necessary to keep building piping system in good repair. Troubleshoot new and existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as steam heating, steam generating, flash and expansion tanks, condensate pumps, vacuum pumps, circulating pumps and convectors. Use diagrams and schematics. Plan projects which involve pipefitting challenges, such as the installation of steam-heating, steam generation and hydraulic systems in hospitals, restaurants, laundries, etc. Follow written project instructions in work order. Lay out work based on blueprints. Keep tools, hand and power, in good working order. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

The work requires making repairs and installation from ladders, scaffolding and platforms and in areas which are hard to reach. This requires the employee to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee frequently carries, lifts and handles parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds. WORK CONDITIONS:
The employee is subject to burns (from hot water and steam while repairing leaks on and around high-pressure steam and hot water piping systems) and to strains, cuts and bruises while working with all types of pipefitter tools and equipment used to repair and install piping systems. The employee is also subjected to abnormal heat and band smelling fumes, while installing and repairing piping systems. The work is performed inside and outside and the work areas are usually dirty, dusty and greasy. The employee is also required to work with and handle hazardous wastes such as asbestos and all types of acids. The employee is subject to be called in during non-duty hours to handle emergencies Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
