Health Technician-Patient Aligned Care Teams (PACT)

He/she works collaboratively with the Core and Expanded Team (family/caregiver, internal and community-based services involved in providing care to the patient) in setting priorities and deadlines for Veteran care. The Health Technician takes direction from all members of the core and expanded teams in order to provide timely and safe patient care. The Health Technician is responsible for the laboratory services provided in the CBOCs. The applicant will be required to function under the supervision of the RN Team Leader. This position requires scheduling flexibility that may include some evening and Saturday tours. Works sites will include Northport VAMC, Valley Stream CBOC, East Meadow CBOC, Patchogue CBOC, and/or Riverhead CBOC. Preferred Criteria:
Med/Surg, Geriatric or Extended Care experience background required, with at least 2 years experience preferred Phlebotomy experience preferred Current American Heart Association BLS certification Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast paced environment Applicant must be self-motivated, possessing critical thinking and interpersonal relationship skills Area of Assignment:

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS- 6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Collections of specimens, applying dressings, adjusting simple supportive equipment, collections of blood samples or other fluid samples. Uses computers software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. Maintains patient charting using standard approved medical terminology for human body, physical and emotional reactions, nursing care, and schedules appointments. OR; Completion of at least (1) year of Graduate Level education that is directly related to the work of the position. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED) Combination:

The work is standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying of light items. The work requires above average agility and dexterity. The work may require heavy lifting of equipment or Veterans. The incumbent may be required to travel between VA and/or Non-VA clinical care sites and possession of a valid driver's license may be required. References:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
