Community Health / Staff Nurse
The Community Health(CH)/Staff RN coordinates extensive planning with multiple services, home care agencies and family members for those Veterans discharged on a ventilator. The CH/Staff RN is a member of the VA interdisciplinary inspection team that participates in annual inspections of VA contracted facilities. These facilities include nursing homes, adult homes and Adult Day Health Care Centers (ADHC) and contract Nursing Homes. The CH/Staff RN conducts and documents bi-monthly visits to monitor the quality of VA paid services for those facilities. The RN serves as a liaison between the VA and the community. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. BSN with 3 to 5 years Medical-Surgical experience strongly preferred. Home Care Nursing experience preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years successful nursing experience at Northport VAMC preferred. Grade Determinations:
