Public Affairs Specialist

DUTIES:
Some of the duties include, but are not limited to:
Assists in the evaluation of an effective public affairs/public relations program in a health care environment. Advises management on all issues relating to community awareness and public information regarding the facility, especially regarding sensitive media issues. Designs various publications and video programs for the facility or organization, such as employee and patient newsletters, various orientation and information videos, and program specific brochures. Develops information initiatives for employees, such as special employee bulletin boards, photo displays, participation in new employee orientations, and preparation of pamphlets, booklets and fact sheets. Provides tours of the various facilities within the health care system for visiting dignitaries, veteran service organization members and officials, and other health care representatives. Writes speeches for the facility director and other key management officials for special events, community programs and patient activities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Serves as a liaison with the public affairs staffs of related health/education organizations, services, civic and fraternal organizations on behalf of the medical center. Tour of Duty:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
