Major duties include:
Apply the necessary supervisory skills and techniques required to accomplish all aspects of the Environmental Management Service Sanitation Program; Maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness and sanitation in all assigned areas of responsibility; Assist in the related Environmental Management Service functions of linen distribution and security, pest control, furniture movement, signage and interior decoration; Proper training of subordinate employees in all housekeeping skills and techniques. He/she maintain training records to assure that each employee receives adequate training and is knowledgeable in all facets of the job; Maintain time and attendance records, schedules and approves annual 1eave and sick leave, and recommends to the General Foreman or Assistant Chief other types of leave for concurrence and approval; Initiate request for incentive awards, suggestion awards, etc.; Coordinate with other services to accomplish specials projects such as:
furniture moving, cleaning of specialized areas, setting up meetings and conferences; Perform daily sanitation inspections of assigned areas to ensure that an adequate level of sanitation is being maintained; and Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

You must be able to stand, stoop, bend and walk significant distances on a daily basis. May on occasion lift, push, pull and carry various items up to fifty (50) pounds. When performing assigned responsibilities, you must take into consideration the physical limitations of the young adult, middle adult and geriatric patient. Work is performed primarily inside, however, you may be exposed to inclement weather while making daily inspections of outside areas, dumpsters, etc. Some duties must be performed in wet, dusty or otherwise unsanitary conditions. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
