Nurse Practitioner - Electrophysiology

The Nurse Practitioner will assist in clinical and infrastructure functions of the Cardiology section of the Medical Service. The NP will be responsible for providing specialty care to patients referred to this section and will act as a consultant to the health care team in matters related to complex clinical issues. The NP will have a primary, but not sole, focus for providing specialty care in the area of cardiac electrophysiology and pacemaker/defibrillator management and will conduct outpatient clinic appointments, perform cardiac stress tests, and function as an integral part of a multi-specialty cardiac care team. The nurse practitioner is an advanced practice nurse with a strong clinical background who works full or part time. The nurse practitioner is responsible for diagnosing, planning, providing and evaluating health care for an assigned group of patients. The nurse practitioner functions as an independent practitioner in collaboration with a physician to provide health care in a variety of health care settings. The scope of practice is defined according to his/her collaborative agreement. The nurse practitioner may function in clinical, administrative, research and educational settings to continuously promote and improve the quality of patient care practices. The nurse practitioner is responsible to maintain the competency of their practice through peer review or other quality improvement (01) activities for the annual proficiency process. The nurse practitioner is responsible for assisting/performing diagnostic cardiology procedures. The nurse practitioner is administratively and/or clinically responsible to the Chief of Cardiology. The nurse practitioner must be a citizen of the United States of America and a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate state-accrediting agency. The nurse practitioner must have a current, full, active and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a state, territory or commonwealth and must have a current license in his/her practice specialty and certified prescriptive privileges. Must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Public Law 95- 210, with satisfactory references on file. B. Education/Experience Requirements:
At all levels, a Nurse Practitioner must possess a masters degree as nurse practitioner and national certification by the American Nursing Association as a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner must have experience in managing cardiologic conditions including congestive heart failure. The nurse practitioner must have experience managing arrhythmias and implanted cardiac devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. Qualifications:
Master's Degree from a program approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Current, full, active, and unrestricted license, or otherwise recognized, as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia. In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active, and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Current, full, active certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body. Experience:
Cardiac Nurse Practitioner Master's or completion of ACNP/CCNP post Master program strongly preferred. At least three years of experience as Nurse Practitioner- Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS) Experience managing a complex patient cohort within an ambulatory care setting. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree. Reference:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
